Filmvorführung „Ich Capitano“

Musiker in Europa sein, davon träumen Seydou und Moussa. Der Wunsch nach dieser besseren Zukunft treibt sie schließlich gemeinsam aus dem Senegal. Doch schnell wird klar, dass zwischen ihnen und dem Ziel Italien die Wüste, gnadenlose Schlepper, lybische Gefängnisse und nicht zuletzt das Mittelmeer liegt. Die beiden kämpfen um ihren Traum, einander und ums Überleben. „Io Capitano“ setzt sich ehrlich und menschlich mit der Realität unsicherer Fluchtrouten auseinander. Io Capitano ist 2023 erschienen und wurde u.A. für den Oscar „Bester internationaler Film“ nominiert. Regie führte Matteo Garrone. Gezeigt wird der Film in französischer Originalversion mit englischen Untertiteln.

Seydou and Moussa dream of being musicians in Europe. Their desire for this better future ultimately drives them out of Senegal together. But it quickly becomes clear that between them and their goal of Italy lies the desert, merciless smugglers, Libyan prisons, and, last but not least, the Mediterranean. The two fight for their dream, each other, and for survival. “Io Capitano” deals honestly and humanely with the reality of unsafe escape routes. Io Capitano was released in 2023 and was nominated for the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film, among other awards. Directed by Matteo Garrone, it runs 121 minutes. The film will be shown in the original French version with English subtitles.
